HP ProBook 640 G5 (Renewed) – Intel Core i5-8265U, 14″ FHD Business Laptop

I bought this ProBook 640 G5 for the front desk at our Sharjah clinic about five weeks ago and I am writing this with mixed feelings. The machine copes with our booking software, email and a couple of shared spreadsheets, and the keyboard is comfortable for typing up patient details all day. The screen is clear enough in our bright reception area. On paper it sounds like the right tool for the job, but the daily reality has been less smooth than I hoped.

The biggest problem is the charger port on the left side, which feels loose and wobbles when you plug in the cable. Twice the laptop stopped charging until I pushed the connector again, which is worrying for a machine we rely on at the desk. The battery is also weaker than the listing implied. We get roughly half a shift before it needs a plug. The box arrived with a dent on one corner, and the lid has a scratch that was not visible in the photos.

Delivery took four days to Sharjah, longer than the stated two, and nobody told us about the delay until the courier called. Support were polite and offered a discount on a future order, but I would have preferred a replacement charger cable or a proper inspection. Two stars from me until the port issue is sorted. I would recommend checking the battery condition and port quality with the seller before buying a renewed unit like this.

honestly the probook 640 g5 does what i need for work. its quick for office stuff, the screen is clear and typing feels solid on the keys. arrived in good shape in riyadh and the box was neat with no dents. the side port for the charger feels a bit loose which i noticed on day one, so be careful when plugging it in. battery is ok but nothing special, you will want a plug by the afternoon. i’d buy again for the price tbh, good enough for an office desk and the delivery was faster than i expected.
