I bought this EliteBook 840 G3 as a second machine for the office in Abu Dhabi, and after a few weeks I have a balanced view. The keyboard is one of the best I have typed on, with good travel and a firm base. The core performance is fine for email, document work and video calls, and the screen is clear enough for spreadsheets during the day.
The unit arrived well packed in Dubai, and the cosmetic condition matched the photos apart from a faint mark on the palm rest. The fan rises when I open several programs, but it settles back quickly. Battery is the one area where I am disappointed. A renewed unit should have a clearer battery health figure in the listing, and mine gives me about four hours of normal use. The charger that came with it is a third party brand, and it works, though it feels a little loose in the port.
I would give three or four stars depending on the battery, but I would still recommend this laptop for basic office work at a good price. The seller was polite and responded to my question about the charger within a day. My advice is to ask for the battery condition before you order. I will update this review after a few more weeks of use.

Uso este EliteBook 840 G3 para mi trabajo en Sharjah desde hace unas semanas. El teclado es muy agradable para redactar informes y la pantalla es correcta para hojas de cálculo. El paquete llegó limpio y sin daños visibles. El ventilador sube un poco con carga, pero se puede tolerar. La batería está más desgastada de lo que esperaba y no aguanta una jornada completa, así que tengo el cargador siempre a mano. Para trabajo de oficina es una opción razonable.

The EliteBook 840 G3 does the job for my office work: emails, spreadsheets, a few PDFs. It is reliable and the keyboard is lovely. The downside is the charger, which is not the HP original and gets warm after a while, and the battery is worn so I need a plug by early afternoon. Delivery to Dubai took five days instead of the two in the listing, and the box was dented on one side. The screen is ok but not bright. Support answered and gave a small discount, which was fair. Three stars from me, mostly because of the battery and the delay.
