HP EliteBook 840 G4 Touch 14″ FHD Business Laptop — Intel Core i5-7th Gen, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Windows 10 Pro (Renewed)

I have been using this EliteBook 840 G4 Touch as my main presentation laptop in Abu Dhabi for about six weeks, and I wanted to write a proper review after the first few client meetings. The touch screen is responsive and accurate, which makes annotating slides much easier than with a standard display. The keyboard feels solid and the lid hinges are sturdy, so it survives being opened and closed many times a day in the office.

The unit arrived well packed in Dubai, and most of the cosmetic condition matched the listing. The screen is bright enough for conference rooms, although it is not the brightest panel I have used. Battery life is the weak point: I get a few hours of meeting time before the charger is needed. The charger that came in the box is a generic brand, and it is noticeably warm after a while, which made me nervous enough to order an official one.

The fan is quiet at normal use but gets louder when I connect two external screens, which I expected. Delivery took longer than the estimate and I had to contact the seller twice to find out where the parcel was. Support eventually answered and agreed to help with the charger issue. Four stars for now: the hardware is good, but the accessories and communication need work. I may update this later if the seller replaces the charger.

The EliteBook 840 G4 Touch is fine for the most part but the charger was the first thing that annoyed me. It is a generic brand, not the HP one, and it gets very warm after twenty minutes. The touch screen works smoothly and the navigation is nice in meetings. Delivery to Sharjah took four days, which was not the two the listing said. There is a small scuff on the frame near the top corner that I did not expect from the photos. Battery is ok for a meeting but not a full working day. Support was helpful, and they agreed to send an official charger after I raised it.
